Developments & Updates
Students who participate in tenure track searches are now paid, in recognition of the extent of the time commitment and efforts that go into the process. From the faculty handbook, “The Department Members of the committee will be asked to suggest two Student Representatives (these two students are usually junior and senior majors in the department and their selection should aim to appropriately represent the diversity of the student population in the major/minor/program).”
New avenues for involving BIPOC students in faculty search committees will begin with the faculty searches that begin in Fall 2021.
