Assure students receive the accommodations identified in their accommodation letters. If an accommodation poses as a fundamental alteration of the course, ADS and the professor will work with the student to identify reasonable options for providing access, which work for both the student and professor.
Developments & Updates
In the spring of ’22 Alex Cooke Samors, LSW, moved into a position as Divisional Case Manager & Access Coordinator, working to support students as they navigate services and resources through ADS.
ADS student liaisons (new in the 2021-2022 year) provide another avenue of support for students seeking accommodations, wanting to learn more about disability and accessibility, or just trying to learn a bit about ADS generally. The liaisons are part of the ADS student advisory group, which provides feedback and insight to the ADS office.
The provost addresses issues directly with faculty who are not meeting the necessary ADS requirements and is working with the Dean of the College John McKnight, Jr. to better engage faculty with resources from ADS.
